The Boundary Run
This popular club social event
is an approximately 31 mile circular route on predominantly
off road terrain. Commencing at Nurstead Court the route is
navigated by map and/or prior knowledge. Two groups of
members managed to complete the entire route both clockwise
and anti clockwise circuits and an equal number participated
in shorter sections of the route in the form of a relay.
Some members ran two sections either 'back to back' or at
different times of day e.g. a morning run followed by a
break and then an afternoon run. The route is broken down
into four sections with 'average' length of section 8 mile.
It was possible to achieve good
distance and time using a run/walk/run system if you are
currently not up to 8 mile run distance. Advice will be
given if required. It was also practical to do the entire
route based on half marathon/ 15 mile run fitness. There is
also a cycling alternative which can be all road for those
unable to run.
